Child Care

Who do you turn to if your children have been taken into care by a Local Authority? What can you do if they are being put up for adoption against your will? This is known as Public Law child care work and is one of the areas in which we specialize.

We have substantial experience of legal proceedings involving children and offer sensitive and effective representation in dealing with Social Services and other agencies. If necessary, we will make a same day emergency application regarding the children, to ensure their best interests are protected.

We know that often you will need us to take urgent action - when you need immediate help from us, we try and respond straight away.

We can advise and assist you before court proceedings, attend child protection conferences and represent you in court proceedings. We recognise that the consequences of a decision in this area can have life-long implications, for you and the children. We will always listen to your concerns and, whether we are representing parents, grandparents, foster parents or other relatives, we will keep you fully informed at all stages.

Parents of children taken into care automatically receive Legal Aid. Where you are eligible for assistance under the Legal Help Scheme and/or public funding (Legal Aid) and we are able to help with the necessary forms.
