Speeding

Most drivers will admit to speeding, albeit unintentionally, at some time in their lives. Minor speeding offences are normally dealt with by imposing penalty points and a small fine. More serious cases may lead to disqualification or, if the speed was excessive, a charge of dangerous driving.

If you already have points on your licence, you may face an automatic disqualification under the ‘totting up’ rules. Even with no points, Magistrates have discretion to impose bans of between 14 days and a year if your offence can be shown to have “aggravating circumstances”.

Whatever the nature of the charge, we will help you defend it. Even if found guilty, we may be able to enter a successful plea of mitigating circumstances. This could lead to a lesser penalty or to disqualification not being imposed.
