Our Criminal Law department deals with all aspects of representation from police station to Magistrates’ Court / Crown Court and to the Appeal Court if applicable. We hold a Legal Aid Contract in crime and can advise whether public funding (Legal Aid) may be available for your case.
We provide you with guidance and excellent legal advice and representation, ensuring that you are supported and aware of your rights at every stage of the process.
Arrested?
Everyone who is detained at a Police Station is entitled to receive free independent legal advice from a solicitor of their choice. Having legal representation at the Police Station is crucial, as what happens there can seriously influence the outcome of any Court proceedings that follow.
If you, or a loved one are arrested, then simply ask for ‘Cowans Solicitors LLP’ when you arrive at the custody suit, and we will be contacted and ensure that you are looked after.
We work mainly in Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, but can arrange representation anywhere in the country, providing a swift attendance.
